“In my opinion, Louise breaks the mould of most politicians. She is a go-getter who does not make promises unless she is willing to act upon them. I truly believe that when she is re-elected , she will make a difference, not only for Wards 5 and 6 , but also for the whole city! Nikki Henderson...Caw Representative |

HARMONY VALLEY CONSERVATION AREA
OFF LEASH PARK
It’s election time again. How do you know who to vote for? I look for someone who is hard working, dedicated to the job and is willing to investigate the issue before making their decision.
Louise Parkes I have discovered is this type of person.
I am involved with a campaign to save Harmony Valley Conservation area from any type of development, and to make it an official off leash dog walking area for the many dog walkers who use this area on a daily basis.
All the City Councillors were given the same personal invitation to come out and investigate the area before making any decision. Louise was one of the few that came out. She was the only one that took the time to get involved.
Louise Parkes not only came out, she helped us with the campaign. She advised and counselled us as to how the process worked. She was there to answer our questions and respond to our concerns.
The process is still not complete but we have come a long way in accomplishing our goal because of the expert guidance and caring of Louise Parkes.
She investigated our concerns by coming out to Harmony, walking the trails, talking with the people who use the area on a daily basis. She helped us formulate a plan, met with us to review it, and helped us to execute it. There were many emails back and forth, late night phone calls, meetings and a lot of discussion. Whenever we had a question or concern we knew we could contact her for an immediate response.
Louise is a great supporter of natural uncultivated green space and we definitely need more of it in Oshawa.
I hope that I will be able to continue to work with Louise in saving green space for Oshawa after the election.
