From Oshawa This Week - UOIT to build public plaza in downtown Oshawa - July 5 2010
It really is incredible how much of a positive impact UOIT is having on our downtown. A renewed Regent Theatre on King Street, A New 5 Story Faculty of Criminology on Bond, the renewal of the old Scotia Bank building on Simcoe for the Faculty of Education, The renewal of the Alger Press Building on Charles street (WALK BY IF YOU ARE DOWNTOWN, THE WORK BEING COMPLETED HERE IS SIMPLY INCREADIBLE) and now additional public green space for the students, downtown businesses, employees and patrons to share. I truly believe UOIT's commitment to our City is the beginning of a revitalized Oshawa we can all be proud of. As your future Mayor I will work as hard as i can to ensure a strong bond between UOIT and City Hall is maintained so we can continue to grow together with pride.
I would like to know what the people of Oshawa's top ten concerns are. I am looking for positive discussion only, and would like to see some issues that are outside of the usual topics such as taxes.
A great example of new positive conversation is Marissa Kata's question regarding Bicycle lanes being implemented in our future construction plans.

Many thanks to Councillor John Neal, Tim Bird and all the other candidates and Councillors with a true ethical compass that led the fight in Oshawa for accountability." Louise
